Science and technology

Science and technology is mandatory for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

In science and technology, students explore the natural and made worlds. They learn how to apply scientific and technological skills, knowledge and understanding across a broad range of contexts.

Science provides a way of inquiring about the world around us. It explores evidence and investigates ways to discover, develop and produce solutions to real world problems. The inquiry and skill-based nature of science opens doors to ideas and discoveries.

Technology at BPS

Burwood Public School has established a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. BYOD refers to students bringing a personal technology device to school each day to use for educational purposes under the direction of a teacher.

The devices are used in the classroom to enhance students' learning experiences in accordance with the Department of Education's 21st Century learning guide.

Applications for the BYOD program are open for students in Years 4, 5 and 6. If your child is in Years 4, 5 or 6 and you are prepared to supply them with a device for use at school, please access our BYOD school policy for further information.
