Changes to the Burwood PS Enrolment Boundaries

The New Public School in Albert Road, Strathfield is due to open at the start of the 2014 school year.  The school is being opened to accommodate the predicated growth in enrolments in the Strathfield and Burwood local government areas by 2017 and beyond.

As a result of the enrolment pressures on Burwood PS and the new school opening, there will be some changes to Burwood's enrolment boundaries commencing from 2014.  The area to the west of Shaftsbury, Lucas Fitzroy and Parramatta Road will no longer be in the Burwood school catchment area. This area will go to Croydon PS. The area to the south bounded by Parramatta Road, Mosley Street, Wentworth Road and the railway will be allocated to the new school at Strathfield.

Students living in the new public school at Strathfield's catchment area and who are already enrolled at Burwood PS will not have to enrol in the new school.

There is a three year transition period whereby students will be allowed to enrol at Burwood PS if they have a brother or sister already enrolled at Burwood PS. From 2017 such enrolments will be considered as non –local and applications will be managed in line with the school's enrolment policy.

If you require further details about the school enrolment boundaries please contact the school office, on 02 9745 2299.
