How to enrol
Every child has the right to access quality public education in their local community. If you live in our local intake area, start your journey to join our vibrant school community today. Follow these key steps:
- Check your eligibility: use School Finder to confirm if your address is within our local intake area.
- Apply online: complete our online enrolment application.
- Wait for the school to contact you: We will contact you to follow up on your application and to arrange an enrolment meeting.
Online enrolment is currently only available for Australian or New Zealand citizens and permanent residents.

Non-local (Out-of-Area) applications
Burwood Public School will be accepting Non-Local (Out-of-Area) enrolment applications. Please note, however, that out-of-area enrolment procedures are subject to the department’s enrolment policy.

Distance education
Distance education is an equity program for students who are geographically isolated or whose individual circumstances prevent them from regularly attending school. Students must meet one of the conditions in the Distance Education Enrolment Procedures to be eligible to access this program as a full-time student.

Please complete the form in English. A translated application to enrol may help you do this.
Visiting us before you enrol
Starting a new school is a big step. We're here to help make the transition a smooth and positive experience for every student and their family.
School tours occur as part of our annual Kindergarten orientation program. You will be able to find the most current information on our information sessions on our dedicated website.
These events are held to help you and your child feel prepared for starting school and we welcome your attendance. You will meet our friendly staff, explore our school facilities, and see what makes our school a great place to learn.

Financial contributions and assistance

School contributions
In NSW public schools, all monetary contributions are voluntary. Every student has full access to the curriculum, regardless of whether contributions are made.

Financial assistance
If you are unable to pay school contributions because of financial hardship, you may be eligible for assistance from the school.
Our principal will ensure no student or family suffers any discrimination or embarrassment over the inability to pay school contributions.
